Upper Face Definition (Tear Troughs, Temples & Cheeks)

Tear Trough Rejuvenation

Tear Troughs are the dark circles or hollows that can appear under the eyes, which can give the appearance of being very tired.  They can be treated very successfully non-surgically, using dermal fillers.

We prefer to use Puresense Redensity 2 or Juvederm Volbella in this area, as we get excellent, long lasting results with these products.

The procedure is quite comfortable, and takes about 20 minutes to perform.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

All of our clients are surprised at how comfortable this procedure is. We usually use a cannula, which minimises bruising, and the product itself has lidocaine (local anaesthetic) in it, so it numbs after one or two seconds.

Are there any side effects?

As with any procedure that involves needles or cannula, there is a chance of bruising, and/or swelling in the treated area. This is usually temporary, and settles within a few days. Other, less common, possible side effects are full discussed with the client before any treatment is performed.

How long will it last?

In this area, the results are usually very long lasting, about 18 months, sometimes more.

What if I do not like it?

I'm sure that you will! However, as with all of the hyaluronic acid fillers that we use, it can be dissolved using a product called hyaluronidase (Hyalase®), which works within a few hours of injecting it.

This is an area of the face that is often overlooked by clients, and some practitioners too!  Hollowing of this temple area can lead to a narrowing of the face at eye level, and also gives the appearance of the eyebrow edges disappearing 'off the edge'.

Plumping out this area with dermal fillers gives the face a much more youthful appearance, and supports the outer part of the eyebrows, increasing their visibility and attractiveness.
