Juvéderm® Frequently Asked Questions
- Do the injections hurt?
- How many treatments will I need?
- Are there any side effects?
- What are the areas most commonly treated with Juvéderm ULTRA®?
- Who is the best person to do the treatment?
Juvéderm® ULTRA contains the anaesthetic lidocaine. The addition of anaesthetic provides a gentle, pain-free injection experience that allows you to really 'feel the difference'.
Juvéderm® ULTRA is approved by the FDA as lasting up to one year, and Juvederm Voluma can last up to 18 months.
Usually you only need one treatment and the effect is immediate!
After this time a repeat treatment is usually needed to maintain the effect.
Juvéderm® ULTRA is unsuitable for patients who are allergic to anaesthetic or Hyaluronic Acid. Rarely, a transient numbness or tenderness may develop in the treated area. Mild bruising may occur. If you are prone to cold sores at the injection site, treatment may bring out another eruption. Finally, any injection carries a small risk of infection. If you are pregnant or breast feeding the treatment is not recommended. A consent form outlining, in detail, all of the possible risks and benefits is read carefully and signed by all clients before any treatment is given.
Juvéderm® ULTRA is very flexible as it comes in different grades depending on the area to be treated. It is excellent for the lines from the nose to the mouth, lip definition and volume, cheek/chin enhancements, marionette/puppet line, tear troughs, fine lines and scars.
Always make sure that your practitioner is medically or nursing qualified, and has as much experience as possible with the product being used.
