Radiesse® Post Treatment and Side Effect Information
The side effects experienced after the treatment are mild and can be managed simply at home. Immediately after treatment with RADIESSE, there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. Any such inconvenience is temporary and generally disappears in a few days. If the inconvenience continues or if other reactions occur, please contact your practitioner.
The initial swelling can be treated with application of ice or cold compress. Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water. Only light make-up should be used for the first 24 hours.
Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treatment area to intense heat e.g. solarium and sunbathing, or extreme cold. Typical pain relief for these side effects, if required, could include Paracetamol or Nurofen.
Note that if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.
If you are using aspirin or any other similar medication, be aware that these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
The team at Suffolk Medical Clinic have years of experience and our clients confidence and safety is paramount. If you have any concerns before the treatment please feel free to discuss them with your practitioner.
